Orlando Real Estate - Blog Local Orlando Real Estate Market is Improving February 13th, 2009 12:33 PM Orlando Real Estate home sales second-best statewide The reports keep getting better for Metro Orlando's existing homes sales, as the four-county market ended the fourth quarter on a strong note, rising 22 percent to 4,247 homes, the second best showing out of 20 markets statewide, the Florida Association of Realtors said this afternoon. Only the far larger Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater market sold more homes during the three-month period, 5,579, but Orlando was closing the gap as Tampa's increase was only half as great, at 10 percent. And Orlando's median sales price for the quarter held up better than Tampa's as well, with Orlando homes at $171,700 and Tampa's median settling down to $149,400. Orlando's condo market was far weaker though, with the median price for the 446 units sold during the quarter plunging 43 percent to $85,800. The statewide condo median was off 28 percent to $136,400, boosting total sales by 3 percent.
